How to Create a Page

This video is an introduction to creating a blank page, dragging in a template, previewing, and publishing. Perfect if youʻre new to Builder.

Skill set: Basic

Area: UI only

Length: 2 minutes

Prerequisites

  • You'll need a Builder account.
  • An evergreen browser; that is, a modern, up-to-date browser such as Google Chrome.

In the Content section in the left-hand panel, select Page under Models. With Page selected, click +New, then Page.

In the dialog that opens, give your page a name. A URL is created for you, but you can change it to anything you like. In the video, just slash is used because the page is the default homepage of the site.

At the top of your page you now see both the page name and the URL path. The page name can be changed to anything you like without affecting the URL. Here we used / as the URL and Home Page as the page name, as explained in the video. Clicking on the target icon next to the URL path opens a targeting box in which you can also change your URL.

Now, choose a Template. There are many Template options that provide pre-built styles and formatting. For this tutorial, choose the blank Template.

Because you've chosen a blank page, you'll need to add content. You can add Text blocks, Image blocks, Videos, and any content you like. You can also add content using Templates for sections of your page. All the elements you can add to your page are found on the Insert tab .

Choose a Template and drag it onto the blue work area. If you want to see all Templates, click View All Templates under the list of Templates.

You can also search for Templates using the search bar.

Below is a sample of the types of blocks you can drag into your page.

After dragging your Template or other blocks to the work area, click the Publish button in the upper-right corner.

You can now view your live page by clicking the eyeball in the upper-right corner of the page and selecting View live page. You can also preview your drafts as you build using the View current draft option.

You page is now live and you can add content or edit it as you like.
