Artboard Mode

Publish

With Artboard mode, you can engage with your entire Page or Section, zoom in and out, and edit your content entry.

Enable Artboard mode

To enable Artboard mode:

  1. Open a Page or Section content entry.
  2. In the Visual Editor, click the Artboard icon at the center top of the Visual Editor.
  3. To exit Artboard mode, click the Artboard mode icon again.

The video below shows how to enable and disable Artboard mode.

Use Artboard mode

Artboard mode provides a way to interact with your content entry that is similar to other design tools.

Edit

To Edit while in Artboard mode, use the same actions as when in the standard default Visual Editor view; for example:

  • Double-click on any element in the Artboard pane to open its Edit dialogue.
  • If you prefer inline text editing, toggle it on in a Text edit dialogue.
  • To add blocks, drag and drop from the Insert tab.

Scroll and move

With most devices, scroll as you normally would, however, the next tips might prove helpful:

  • With a touchpad, two-finger drag to move or scroll the artboard.
  • With an external mouse that has a wheel, scroll with the wheel of the mouse. Move left and right, hold Shift while using the wheel. Hold down the wheel and move the mouse to move the Artboard around.
  • If you press the Spacebar the pointer changes to a hand. When you click, the hand grabs the Artboard so you can drag it.

Zoom in and out

With a touchpad, two-finger pinch to zoom in and out and two-finger drag to move the artboard. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + or -.

With a mouse that has a wheel, hold down Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) while scrolling with the mouse wheel.

Resize

To resize the Artboard, hover over the artboard's left or right, and when the cursor changes to a horizontal arrow, drag the edge to the desired size.

As you resize the Artboard, the layout adapts to the screen size, which shows how the design displays at different viewport widths.
