Builder.io CMS Earns SOC 2 Type 2 Certification

May 31, 2023

Written By Brent Locks

We are proud to announce that Builder.io has successfully completed our SOC 2 Type 2 examination, a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to providing enterprise-ready security for our customers. This achievement is a testament to our dedication to protecting customer data and ensuring that our platform is secure and reliable for businesses of all sizes, especially those in regulated industries such as financial services, education, healthcare, and government.

What is SOC 2 Type 2?

The SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) Type 2 examination is a rigorous, third-party audit that evaluates a company's information security practices and procedures over an extended period, typically six months to a year. An independent auditor, Insight Assurance, conducted the detailed examination to the standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It focuses on five trust service principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Successfully completing the SOC 2 Type 2 examination demonstrates that a company has the appropriate security measures in place and maintains those measures effectively over time.

Why did we complete the assessment?

At Builder.io, we understand that the security and privacy of your data are paramount. We have always been committed to providing our customers with a robust and secure platform. As we continue to grow and expand into new markets, we recognize the need to validate our security practices through a trusted, industry-recognized certification. By completing the SOC 2 Type 2 examination, we demonstrate our commitment to security and assure our customers that their data is protected in accordance with industry best practices.

What does it mean for you?

Successfully completing our SOC 2 Type 2 examination means you can have greater confidence in the security, availability, and integrity of Builder.io as your headless CMS solution. Our platform has been thoroughly audited and tested, ensuring that we meet the stringent requirements of the SOC 2 Type 2 certification. This achievement is particularly significant for businesses in regulated industries such as financial services, education, healthcare, and government, where data security and compliance are essential.

For our enterprise customers, this certification signifies that:

  • Builder.io is committed to safeguarding your sensitive customer data and ensuring the security of our platform.
  • We have the necessary controls to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data integrity, and protect customer privacy.
  • We have demonstrated our commitment to continuous improvement as the SOC 2 Type 2 examination evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of our security measures.
